Reactions in Evermore by Alyson Noel

I just started reading this book like two days ago and it really grabs my attention. It really amazes me how the main character lives her life after a tragic accident that killed her whole entire family. Now she experiences weird psychic visions when she’s being touched by someone. After all she experiences she was never the same again and she describes the way she was and the person she is now. She explains how her life was complete and living the life of a normal teenager like made varsity cheerleader, go to dances, her hair would be visible to everyone. Now she hardly talks to people and she’s known as a freak at her school. All she does is pull her hood forward ignore the word by listening to her music all day. Then there’s a new guy that grabs Ever’s attention and seems like through out the book Damen will be a huge part of Ever’s life.

I don’t tend to summarize my book but I think you should know a bit about it. I would like to share my thoughts about this fascinating book. There’s something that still gets me thinking and it’s her name, Ever. In the book it says, ” And I fell to the ground, my skin prickled with cold, my whole body twitching, crying, screaming, cursing, begging, making promises I knew I could never ever keep”(5). Right when she explained this she mentioned her name which I think there’s a connection between what she said and her name. To me I think her name might be a negative thing for her in the book. She thinks  she will never ever get no where in life because of her tragic memories. They haunt her and stop her from living her life and be happy. At the moment she’s placing her self in a terrible place and I sense it. I know how it feels to have negativity around you it’s around me all the time as well. I wake up every morning hoping my day will be something I will remember in a good way. Her name can be a good or a bad thing it’s just up to her on whether she wants a positive or negative image in her life. Only she has the strength to make her name special and meaningful.

Throughout the book her dead sister disappears and reappears in Ever’s life. I don’t think that’s a good thing for Ever. I mean it’s a good thing seeing someone you lost but at one point in life people need to let go in order for both people to be happy. Riley her sister seems to be so rude to her and makes her wonder things that she shouldn’t even be thinking of. Riley shouldn’t be popping out of Ever and just bring her down all the time especially when Ever wants to know where her parents are and why aren’t they appearing like Riley is.

When I arrive to English class I get so excited to start class reading my book and when it’s time to stop reading I wished there was much more time to keep reading. I really like “Evermore” so far.
